Verra Mobility seeks a hands-on Field Service Engineer / Operations Technician to support roadside technology across the region.
The independent, field-based role involves working across sites to keep critical systems running.
Traffic enforcement experience is not required; candidates from telecommunications, fibre networks, IT infrastructure, CCTV, electronics, and related field service backgrounds are welcome.
What you will do
- Install, commission, test, and maintain roadside technology and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, electrical, and network faults.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and equipment calibration.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving networks, cabling, and associated systems.
- Maintain accurate technical records and service reports.
- Work safely across roadside and outdoor environments.
- Manage work independently while collaborating with customers and technical teams.
- Provide on-call support and travel between regional sites, including occasional overnight stays.
What you will bring
- At least two years' hands-on experience in field engineering, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, or technical maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills; practical knowledge of networking, LAN/WAN connectivity, cabling, and Microsoft operating systems.
- Experience installing, configuring, or maintaining hardware and software; basic electrical or wiring knowledge.
- Safety-first approach, confidence working independently, and good communication, organisation, and technical reporting skills.
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- CCTV, fibre networks, roadside infrastructure, and intelligent transport systems experience is advantageous but not essential; relevant technical qualifications and safety certifications are welcomed.
Work arrangement
- Mobile, field-based position with regular driving and outdoor work.
- A company vehicle is provided for work-related travel.
- The position includes on-call responsibilities and travel between regional sites.
