Role overview

Education and credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Kinesiology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid USA teaching license or an equivalent recognized by ADEK.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is essential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ADEK teacher approval/licensing and comply with ADEK requirements.

Experience

• At least 2–3 years of full-time PE teaching experience in an American curriculum school.
• Experience planning, delivering, and assessing engaging PE lessons for Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 students.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
• Experience organizing and leading school sports events and extracurricular activities, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Teaching skills and knowledge

• Develop and implement age-appropriate PE programs; differentiate instruction for varied needs and abilities.
• Manage practical learning environments and use technology to enhance PE teaching and learning.
• Know sports rules, equipment management, and safety protocols.
• Use communication, interpersonal, presentation, organizational, time-management, and teamwork skills.
• Know American Common Core State Standards and SHAPE America National Standards for K-12 Physical Education.
• Understand age-appropriate physical development milestones and skill acquisition within the American curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons for Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 students.
• Design a comprehensive, progressive PE curriculum aligned with American standards.
• Promote physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and student well-being; organize school sports and extracurricular activities.
• Follow ADEK policies, guidelines, and educational initiatives.
