Role overview
The Fashion Designer will contribute to the design and development of uniforms and garments for clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop practical designs for uniforms, workwear, corporate wear, and other garments.
- Create sketches, technical drawings, and design concepts based on client requirements.
- Revise designs based on client feedback and production needs.
- Select fabrics, colours, trims, accessories, and garment details.
- Prepare specifications and coordinate with pattern, sampling, and production teams.
- Work with tailors and the sample room to ensure accurate garment samples.
- Review samples, identify design or fit issues, and recommend changes.
- Research trends and help develop uniform collections and product concepts.
- Coordinate with sales and production teams on customer needs, quality, functionality, and feasibility.
- Maintain design and sample records and ensure designs suit bulk production and quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- Previous fashion design, garment manufacturing, uniform, workwear, or apparel experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and finishing techniques.
- Understanding of fit, measurements, patterns, and garment production processes.
- Creative, detail-oriented, communicative, and able to coordinate, manage multiple requirements, and meet deadlines.
- Uniform or corporate/healthcare garment design experience is an advantage.
