F&B Support Expert (Banquet Captain)

Role overview

Banquet and guest service

• Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions.
• Total charges for group functions and prepare and present checks to group contacts for payment.
• Prepare banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks for service and ensure centerpieces are displayed on every table.
• Inspect china, glassware, and silverware for cleanliness and presentation before use.
• Check with guests to ensure satisfaction; communicate meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards and maintain clean work areas throughout the day.

Standards and physical duties

• Follow company, safety, and security policies; report accidents and unsafe work conditions and complete safety training and certifications.
• Welcome guests, communicate clearly and professionally, maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality expectations.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality and protect company assets; perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
• The role may require extended standing, sitting, or walking and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• At least 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.
