Expert Java Spring Boot Developer

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance and scalable backend applications using Java 17/21+ and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Architect enterprise-scale microservices and distributed systems with a focus on scalability, resilience, availability, and performance.
• Analyze and resolve complex integration issues involving REST, SOAP, APIs, WSDL, XML, and system-to-system communication.
• Design and implement integration patterns for enterprise applications and backend services.
• Profile and optimize Java applications, including JVM performance, memory management, garbage collection, concurrency, and caching.
• Design event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Kinesis, or similar technologies.
• Apply architecture patterns including CQRS, Event Sourcing, and Transactional Outbox where appropriate.
• Design and implement secure application architectures using Spring Security, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and centralized secrets management.
• Develop applications and services using Spring Cloud, Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate, and Spring WebFlux.
• Design and optimize solutions using relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Design and optimize solutions using NoSQL and caching technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and senior backend engineers.

Technical Requirements

• Expert-level experience with Java 17/21+.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot 3.x.
• Spring Cloud, Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate, Spring Security, Spring WebFlux.
• Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, WSDL and XML, enterprise application integration.
• Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ and/or AWS Kinesis, event-driven architecture.
• CQRS, Event Sourcing, Transactional Outbox pattern.
• Advanced Java concurrency, Fork/Join Framework, Virtual Threads / Project Loom.
• JVM performance tuning, memory management, Garbage Collection including G1GC and ZGC.
• PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, database query optimization, sharding, and connection pooling.
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets-management solutions.
• Experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 8+ years of experience designing or architecting enterprise-scale Spring Boot solutions.
• Proven experience as a Senior Java Developer, Java Technical Lead, Java Architect, Backend Architect, or similar role.
• Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based applications.
• Strong hands-on development experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and optimizing high-throughput and low-latency applications.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and mentoring skills.

• Experience with PHP.
• Experience with Flutter.
• Experience building reusable Spring Boot starters, frameworks, or shared enterprise libraries.
• Experience with cloud-native application architectures.
• Experience with highly available and mission-critical enterprise platforms.
• Experience leading architecture reviews or technical governance activities.
• Experience mentoring senior and mid-level software engineers.
• Relevant Java, Spring, cloud, architecture, or security certifications.
