Executive Sous Chef - Kuwait

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef with daily operations across assigned outlets or concepts; supervise and motivate the culinary team.
• Ensure dishes meet company standards and recipes; oversee mise en place, preparation, production planning, and service readiness.
• Monitor service workflow and timing; support menu development, new dishes, seasonal specials, and presentation standards.
• Maintain hygiene, food safety, cleanliness, and HACCP standards.
• Monitor food cost, portions, wastage, inventory, and stock rotation; assist with ordering, receiving, storage, and food handling.
• Train and develop kitchen staff, conduct daily briefings, and coordinate with service, purchasing, stewarding, and management.
• Lead the kitchen when the Executive Chef is absent; improve operations and maintain consistency across food production areas.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Executive Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef, or in a similar senior culinary role.
• Strong experience in restaurants, hospitality groups, hotels, or high-volume food and beverage operations.
• Knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, menu execution, and culinary standards.
• Strong leadership, team-management, and training skills.
• Understanding of food costs, inventory, portion control, and waste reduction; excellent food safety, hygiene, and compliance knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment; creative, organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• International hospitality or multi-outlet experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to relocate to Kuwait.
