Job Purpose

Technologies, Data Security, Bioinformatics, Precision Health, and Artificial Intelligence to
promote collaborative research relationships within HBKU, Qatar and globally
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- PhD in a relevant field of hard science with a strong record of publications, conference participation, presentations and scientific contributions
- 16 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years at a senior level in academic management, with responsibility for R&D functions, preferably in an IT / Computing environment and including mentorship of PhD candidates, post docs and scientists
- Experience managing annual research budgets of at least $15,000,000 USD. Fund raising / financing / research contracting experience a plus
- Experience in Project management
- Strong knowledge of Internet computing, bioinformatics, Arabic Language Technologies, Digital Society, etc. Knowledge of research tools, procedures & protocols, and technologies for computing research; knowledge of computing trends and work in computing R&D
- Sound people management, team-building and motivational skills
- Knowledge of local & international regulations for computing research and digital society guidelines
- Outstanding writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; proficiency in Arabic an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
