Position overview

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of sea service as an ETO on offshore vessels, with at least 2 years on lift boats, self-elevating units, or jack-up barges.
• Minimum 1 year in rank as ETO on DP2 jack-up barges or lift boats.
• High-voltage equipment experience on lift barges.

Job-specific skills

• Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, electrical schematics, variable frequency drives, high-voltage safety, and hydraulic-electric interfaces.
• Independent working skills, electrical preventive maintenance skills, and computer skills.
• Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking ability.

Education and certificates

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Marine Electro-Technology.
• Valid Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency (STCW A-III/6) and national Certificate of Competency with applicable flag-state endorsement or recognition.
• High Voltage Management / Operational qualification and valid DP system manufacturer-approved DP Maintenance Course.
• Valid BOSIET/FOET with HUET and Seafarer Medical Fitness Certificate (STCW I/9).
• Valid Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1), Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (STCW A-VI/2-1), Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF - Reg. VI/3), Medical First Aid (STCW A-VI/4-1), and Security Training (STCW A-VI/6).
• Management Level Course for Marine Engineer Officers (STCW A-III/2) and Engine Room Resource Management (STCW A-III/2).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Electro-Technical Officer on an offshore lift boat in Qatar.
• Use PLC troubleshooting, electrical schematics, and VFD knowledge in the role.
• Apply high-voltage safety practices and work with hydraulic-electric interfaces.
• Perform electrical preventive maintenance.
