Environmental Engineer

Job Purpose

Key Accountabilities

• Assist in supporting green building certification processes such as LEED, Mostadam, WELL and other sustainability frameworks.
• Support in collecting and organizing documentation required for certification submissions.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to track progress and gather project information.
• Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and technical documentation related to green building requirements.
• Participate in site visits and meetings to support certification activities.
• Stay updated on basic certification requirements, version changes, and industry practices.
• Maintain
• organized records of certification progress and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
• Communicating regularly with the team and other stakeholders (Vendors, Clients…), providing environmental performance and compliance updates.
• Report on and disseminate best environmental practices and generated knowledge.
• Support the team in sustainability report writing and/or Sustainability report assurance.
• The candidate will preferably have experience in the region specifically in both developing and implementing Environmental reports, for example ESG Reporting strategy (including data collection, gap analysis, identifying the relevant frameworks and producing and communicating the report) as well as in providing assurance against ESG reporting standards. Strong knowledge of current tools and trends for ESG reporting is a plus.
• The candidate will preferably have experience in environmental footprint reporting and carbon trading.
• Support in the implementation and oversee effective waste management practices across our operations.
• Conduct waste audits and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement waste reduction and diversion plans.
• Manage relationships with waste disposal and recycling vendors.
• Have adequate knowledge and skills to ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
• Conduct Site Visits during initial assessments and projects’ implementation.
• Promote our services among existing and new clients: Identify projects with Solid Waste management requirements in all ENOVA Regions (MAF Malls and Hotels, schools, airports, hospitals...).
• Support the implementation of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) monitoring programs across diverse facility types in different sectors: commercial, leisure, transportation, institutional buildings etc…
• Oversee the deployment and operation of IoT-based sensors for tracking key parameters such as CO₂, PM2.5, TVOCs, temperature, humidity, and other comfort and pollutant indicators.
• Facilitate the integration of IEQ data into Building Management Systems (BMS) and centralized digital platforms using standard communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, MQTT, REST API).
• Possess good design and implementation knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment selection in accordance with ASHRAE standards, ensuring alignment with IEQ objectives.
• Conduct regular analysis of IEQ performance, identify areas of non-compliance with international standards (e.g., DM, Mostadam, WELL, RESET, LEED) and contribute to the development of improvement strategies.
• Demonstrate proficiency in HVAC measurement, testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) processes to verify system performance and optimize indoor environmental quality.
• Prepare technical reports and dashboards to communicate findings, trends, and recommended actions to internal teams and clients.
• Contribute to R&D efforts by supporting pilot initiatives involving new IAQ technologies (monitoring & treatment solutions), smart control strategies, and data-driven optimization approaches.
• Identify and research potential new environmental sustainability projects (Solid waste, water and wastewater management projects…).
• Develop and write winning proposals for new projects, including technical specifications, budget estimates, and risk assessments.
• Manage project budgets and timelines.
• Evaluate proposals from the different sub-contractors.
• Support in the development of Gap analysis, action plans, business models, and Key offers for all the services under the Environmental Sustainability Function
• Stay up to date on the latest Environmental Sustainability technologies and trends.
• Conduct training and provide guidance to staff on the different Sustainability practices.
• Prepare reports and presentations for the different services led by the Environmental Sustainability team.
• Collaborate with other departments across the company to ensure environmental sustainability’s policies and strategies are fulfilled and implemented within ENOVA offices and sites.
• Actively participate in our culture of continuous development and innovation by contributing ideas for new features and functionality to the environmental sustainability team.
• Conduct R&D, explore new technologies in the market, and support in the development, implementation, and management of all Proof of Concepts (POCs) related to the function’s services.
• Conduct environmental assessments and audits, including Indoor air quality monitoring, waste management, and monitoring and assessments of other relevant environmental sustainability functions.
• Provide technical expertise on key issues related to environmental assessment and on sustainability development in the preparation, implementation, and supervision of ENOVA’s operations taking into consideration best industry practices and standards.
• Any task related to the Environmental Sustainability Function.
• To always comply with ENOVA HSEQ policies and requirements.
• To always ensure safe working on-site and on a variety of installations, appliances and equipment.

Qualifications, Experiences, & Skills

• Bachelor of Environmental Sciences preferably Environmental Engineering/Sciences
• A master’s degree is a plus
• Certified LEED GA is a must, LEED AP or WELL AP is a plus.
• 3-5 years of working experience
• Green Building Certifications, Integrated Solid Waste Management, Proposal Development, Environmental Reporting
• Knowledge and experience in Environmental sustainability fields (Waste, water, Energy management, Air Quality…)
• Experience in Integrated Solid Waste Management (waste operations, segregation, recovery and recycling…). Operations experience is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge in Microsoft, mainly advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word…
• Training skills (ability to conduct trainings & awareness campaigns)
• Ability to conduct Site inspections.
• Excellent reporting skills.
• Research and development and exploring new technologies in the market.
• Ability to use multiple field-measuring instruments.
• Well-informed of technical developments particularly associated with all aspects of the Environmental Sustainability disciplines and Green Building Certifications.
• Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and largely unsupervised.
• A willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
