Role purpose

Own end-to-end management of a bank's non-production environments across digital and core banking programmes.

Accountable for availability, configuration integrity, and production alignment across SIT, UAT, performance, pre-production/staging, training, and demo environments.

Work with DevOps, infrastructure, and vendor partners.

Production alignment and drift control

  • Synchronize non-production and production application versions, configurations, interface contracts, reference and parameter data, certificates, entitlements, and infrastructure topology.
  • Maintain a documented production-parity baseline per environment and record approved deviations, such as scaled-down capacity, stubbed third parties, or disabled jobs.
  • Define and report drift metrics, run scheduled drift assessments, and drive remediation before major test phases.
  • Coordinate with Release Management and Change to reflect production changes, emergency fixes, and vendor patches in non-production within an agreed, visible lag.
  • Keep core banking, payments, middleware, third-party, and fintech integration points consistent across environments; clarify ownership of connectivity, credentials, and certificate renewals.
  • Track and publish utilization and idle-time metrics to inform right-sizing, consolidation, and capacity investment.
  • Integrate environment booking status with ADO, pipelines, ITSM, and monitoring tools so status updates automatically.
  • Meet the agreed refresh calendar and obtain validated post-refresh sign-off.
  • Reduce drift against the production-parity baseline and document and approve remaining deviations.
  • Resolve environment clashes within agreed timelines and reduce recurring root causes.

Experience
