Position and work location
- Reports to the Hub Manager.
- Full-time, in-person role at the DSO Learning Hub.
- Provides face-to-face academic support to middle- and high-school students.

Supports student understanding, engagement, organization, and progress in English Language Arts.
Works with students individually and in small groups and collaborates with teachers, Academic Advisors, parents, and school leadership.
Reinforces teacher instruction and provides targeted guidance; does not replace the classroom teacher or deliver the curriculum.
Student support and progress
- Support reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking; clarify concepts and guide assignment and assessment preparation.
- Monitor attendance, engagement, and assignment completion; identify students falling behind, intervene, and follow up on missing work.
- Maintain progress and intervention records and help students set goals and take ownership of learning.
Engagement and personalized learning
- Build positive student relationships, encourage participation and live-class attendance, and foster motivation, resilience, and a growth mindset.
- Differentiate support, recommend resources and strategies, address learning barriers, and coordinate with teachers and Academic Advisors.
Organization and collaboration
- Help students manage workloads and deadlines, use planning and time-management strategies, and establish productive routines.
- Communicate with parents about attendance, engagement, and progress; participate in staff meetings and support student learning plans.
Professional responsibilities
- Follow school policies and academic-integrity standards and maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development, including occasional after-school sessions or meetings; perform additional assigned duties.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, English Language Arts, English Literature, Education with an English specialization, or a related field.
- Valid teaching qualification recognized in the UAE.
- At least three years teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supporting middle- and high-school students in English or English Language Arts.
- Experience supporting students individually and in small groups.
Skills and approach
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills; able to build positive relationships and maintain an inclusive environment.
- Adaptable problem-solver able to support diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency with educational learning platforms, technology-enhanced instruction, and Microsoft Office; able to learn new technologies quickly.
