Role overview

Role responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, engage, and lead project managers and engineering professionals; plan workload capacity and organizational needs to support growth and talent utilization.
• Coordinate with sales, manufacturing operations, procurement, marketing, quality, customers, and other stakeholders to align delivery and define product development roadmaps.
• Develop business cases and translate strategic objectives and customer insights into product requirements, engineering deliverables, and quantified value propositions.
• Create executable engineering and project plans covering scope, timelines, resources, and success criteria; review customer specifications through compliance matrices.
• Apply design, verification, and validation practices with traceability and documented support for design and release decisions.
• Provide senior technical leadership and guidance across product development activities.
• Coordinate with procurement, product compliance, and manufacturing operations to optimize designs for production and complete production handoff.
• Own on-time, on-cost, and on-spec delivery of NPI programs and the end-to-end stage-gate process, including gate requirements and RACI definition.
• Oversee IP strategy and associated processes, engineering risk and validation frameworks such as DFMEA and Design for Manufacturability, and product definition systems and standards such as PLM, drawing standards, and configuration control.
• Develop and maintain KPIs and performance metrics for team effectiveness, delivery performance, and business impact.

Minimum qualifications

• Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent qualification.
• Significant engineering leadership experience, including successful development and management of high-performing teams.
• Willingness to undertake occasional domestic and international travel as required.
• Demonstrated ability to bridge communication between commercial and technical teams.
• Experience managing engineering teams and delivering products to market.

Preferred qualifications

• Strong product and systems engineering understanding, including demonstrated design, verification, validation, manufacturing handoff, and successful product launch.
• Manufacturing company experience.

Workplace and travel

• The team is based in Poole.
• The role requires occasional domestic and international travel.
