Engineering Tech Lead / Associate Director, Software Engineering

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer software with customer experience in mind; design user-facing applications and improve front-end usability.
• Share subject-matter expertise and best practices, and ensure adherence to technology engineering standards and policies.
• Deliver and support data infrastructure and architecture for optimized storage and consumption in large applications.
• Implement security measures for systems, networks, products, and services.
• Build greenfield products and platforms, defining architecture, selecting technology, and establishing engineering foundations and standards.
• Mentor team members, remove roadblocks, improve capacity, ensure accountability, and promote engagement and sustainable high-quality delivery.
• Manage stakeholder communications and support effective project governance.
• Work with Operations, Development, and Test Engineers to address operational issues across releases and changes.
• Support incident resolution, resilience, sustainability, and recovery objectives; lead developer teams and develop team capabilities.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience, with knowledge of Java, cloud technologies, and related products.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, MongoDB, SQL, microservices design, Kafka, and GCP.
• Experience or knowledge of DevOps practices and current CI/CD technologies such as GitOps.
• Experience supporting middleware and database design, build, and troubleshooting in development and production.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Geneos, or IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
• Experience in agile and DevOps environments using Jenkins, GitHub, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Expertise in cybersecurity and applicable data privacy, consent, and data residency regulations.
• Technical leadership of large developer teams and ability to work with senior business stakeholders.
