Engineer III- Technology
Role Overview
Design, develop, test, and implement scalable Java-based applications and services
Partner with product teams, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions
Contribute to system design, application architecture, and technology decisions that support long-term product strategy
Lead complex development efforts and provide technical guidance across applications and integrated systems
Mentor developers on technical design, coding standards, and engineering best practices
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and solution discussions to ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability
Support production stability through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
Identify opportunities to enhance application performance, modernize technology, and drive continuous improvement
Contribute to the adoption and integration of AI-enabled capabilities, automation, and data-driven solutions where appropriate

Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in Java software development and enterprise application engineering
- Expertise in Java web application development
- Strong understanding of application architecture, system integration, and software development lifecycle practices
- Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and Oracle
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), Kubernetes, microservices, and modern Java frameworks
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, application monitoring, and production support
- Experience with Databricks, AI/ML technologies, or intelligent automation solutions
- Relevant Azure certifications
- Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.

Salary Information
- Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism.
