Role information

Maintenance duties

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen and machine-room tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication; inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
• Identify and operate equipment and building utility shutoff valves; maintain inventory and request parts and supplies.
• Hand over daily activities and issues to employees on other shifts.
• Prepare and paint surfaces; make minor wall and woodwork repairs; replace bulbs and air-conditioning filters; clean repair areas.
• Test, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guest-room items, internet devices, and fixtures.
• Program televisions and perform general engineering maintenance and inventory tasks.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work; repair indoor and outdoor gardens and outdoor irrigation systems.
• Use computers for work information, including entering air-regulation schedules and changing temperatures.

Technical areas

• The role covers air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical and mechanical work, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.

Required qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• Basic computer operation, including entering air-control schedules and changing temperatures, is described.

Desired qualifications

• General maintenance experience, including interior and exterior surface preparation and painting, is desirable.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is valued.
• A secondary school diploma or equivalent, or vocational or technical training, is preferred.

Physical and workplace expectations

• The role involves moving and carrying objects, climbing stairs, service ramps or ladders, and reaching, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect property information and company assets, and provide attentive guest service.
• Follow company safety policies, report maintenance and safety concerns, complete safety training, and store flammable materials appropriately.
