Plan and supervise maintenance of plant instrumentation and control systems, coordinating with operations and other maintenance teams for reliable functioning.
Maintenance planning and execution
- Support operations and maintenance teams with equipment testing, troubleshooting, surveillance, and start-up activities.
- Provide field technical support for critical maintenance and coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical sections.
- Arrange manpower and resources for preventive, breakdown, and shutdown plans; assess workload, backlog, and work plans.
- Monitor materials, spares, consumables, and tools to ensure continuing availability.
- Analyze equipment failures and unscheduled shutdowns, recommend solutions, and improve reliability and availability.
- Contribute to major maintenance, upgrade, obsolescence, and new-project planning and commissioning.
- Define technical requirements, evaluate bids, inspect materials, and monitor contractor work quality.
Team and business accountabilities
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned-area activities and train and develop staff.
- Support departmental budgets and work plans, investigate variances, and provide management and progress report inputs.
- Implement policies, procedures, and standards; comply with applicable legislation and HSE requirements.
- Identify process improvements and implement tools and techniques to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control or Electronics, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Six years of Instrument and Control engineering and maintenance experience in a large industrial organization.
- Oil and gas industry experience is preferred.
Work environment
- The work environment is air-conditioned, with possible exposure to heat, humidity, and dust during occasional site visits.
- Physical effort is described as minimal.
Working relationships
Coordinate as required with internal employees and managers, consultants, third-party service providers, and government agencies.
