Role overview

Maintenance work

• Maintain and inspect tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical-room equipment, and machinery; clean and lubricate equipment as needed.
• Identify and operate equipment valves and building utility shutoffs; maintain stocks and order parts and supplies.
• Prepare and paint surfaces; make minor drywall and woodwork repairs; replace bulbs and air-conditioner filters; clean completed work areas.
• Troubleshoot and make basic repairs to plumbing, electrical components, guest-room items, vacuums, internet devices, and other equipment.
• Program televisions; complete engineering maintenance and inventory tasks; use lockout/tagout before maintenance.
• Repair indoor and outdoor landscaping and outdoor irrigation sprinklers; enter air-handler schedules and change temperatures using a computer.

Service and safety

• Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues and provide courteous service.
• Share daily work activities and problems with other teams; maintain professional relationships and protect confidential information and company property.
• Follow company policies, report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, and injuries, complete safety training, and store flammable materials safely.
• Meet quality standards and complete reasonable additional duties when requested.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required.
• General maintenance and interior or exterior surface preparation and painting experience are recommended.
• A high school diploma or equivalent and professional or technical experience are recommended.
• Hotel maintenance or engineering experience is an advantage; no supervisory experience is specified as required.
