Engineer - Filenet System

We are seeking a highly skilled FileNet System Engineer- Admin resource to join our team.

The System Engineer will play an important technical role within the CMS team.

This position will be responsible for the technical liaising with the Development team to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of application initiatives, including enhancements, upgrades, migrations, as well as back-end operational support and maintenance of the full IBM FileNet P8 solution.

IBM FileNet Expertise: Extensive experience with IBM FileNet across multiple versions (including 5.5.x and prior), with hands-on knowledge of Process Engine (PE), Content Engine (CE), and Application Engine (AE).

System Implementation and Support: Skilled in designing, implementing, and supporting IBM FileNet ECM systems in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance: Proficient in setting up and managing FileNet P8 environments, including troubleshooting and issue resolution, with the ability to handle vendor ticket escalation as needed.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, manage capacity and availability (especially for FileNet WebSphere Application Server), and optimize system resource usage.

Operating Systems and Databases: Proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems; strong database management skills, including expertise in Oracle and SQL Server specifically for FileNet repositories.

WebSphere Application Server: Extensive experience with WebSphere Application Server versions 8.X and 9.X, ensuring optimal integration and performance within FileNet environments.

FileNet APIs and Scripting: Proficiency in FileNet APIs (e.g., CE APIs) and scripting to automate processes, customize workflows, and enhance user interfaces.

IBM Content Navigator Customization: Experience customizing IBM Content Navigator for tailored workflows and enhanced user interfaces, ensuring alignment with business requirements.

IBM Licensing Knowledge: Familiarity with IBM licensing models, ensuring compliance and managing usage for FileNet and related IBM solutions.

Containerization and Microservices: Working knowledge of containerization and microservices, including integration with Docker, Kubernetes, or other platforms for hybrid cloud deployments.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Configure and maintain high-availability setups to ensure business continuity, along with disaster recovery (DR) planning for redundancy and reliability.

DevOps and Agile Methodologies: Experience with DevOps practices and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), utilizing Agile tools like Jira and Confluence for efficient task management and team collaboration.

IBM Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiarity with IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation and IBM Case Manager, supporting complex workflow integrations within the FileNet environment.

System Documentation: Maintain accurate "as-built" documents for all configurations and customizations to support ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop SOPs for daily operations, troubleshooting, and system maintenance, including performance monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.

Upgrade and Migration Documentation: Collaborate with the infrastructure team to document processes for upgrades, migrations, and patching, including rollback procedures.

Training and Knowledge Transfer: Create user guides, FAQs, and training documents for non-technical users, IT support staff, and for knowledge sharing within the team.

Proactive System Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and health checks to ensure the stability and optimal performance of FileNet environments.

Incident and Problem Management: Manage incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely issue resolution.

Change and Configuration Management: Oversee system changes while ensuring configuration integrity and minimizing downtime.

Service Level Agreement (SLA) Adherence: Ensure FileNet systems meet defined SLAs by documenting incident resolutions, performance metrics, and regular system checks.

Technical Project Support: Serve as a technical resource and SME on FileNet-related projects, collaborating closely with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to align on technical and business requirements.

Documentation for Project Handover: Prepare project-specific documentation, including test cases and solution designs, to support a smooth transition from project deployment to operational support.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Advanced certifications in IBM FileNet, IBM Content Navigator, or relevant cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) are a plus.

Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience working with IBM FileNet P8 (including various versions), covering installation, configuration, customization, and ongoing support.

Strong experience in enterprise content management (ECM) systems, specifically with IBM FileNet, WebSphere Application Server, and integration with cloud environments.

Experience in Azure AKS or other container-based installation/support of FileNet preferred.

Performs work without direct supervision.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Stay current with related emerging technologies and industry trends.

Related professional Certification is a plus. (FileNet, AKS)

Administration of FileNet based products on container-based environments.
