Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Engineering & Maintenance Operations: • Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance across guestrooms, public areas, restaurants, spa, and back-of-house facilities • Respond promptly and professionally to work orders and guest maintenance requests • Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and building systems • Ensure all repairs meet Fairmont luxury brand standards
• Preventive Maintenance & Asset Care: • Execute preventive maintenance tasks per established schedules • Conduct inspections to identify potential issues
• Guest Experience Support: • Provide courteous and discreet service when responding to guest concerns • Follow Fairmont privacy and service etiquette standards • Complete repairs efficiently with minimal guest disruption
• Life Safety & Compliance: • Support compliance with fire, life safety, and environmental standards • Report safety hazards immediately • Participate in drills and emergency response activities
• Tools, Inventory & Materials: • Properly use and maintain tools and equipment • Assist with inventory management • Anticipate materials and tools to meet operational needs in a timely manner
• Compensation: $53.50/hour
• Visa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

About the Application Process:

Qualifications

• Chicago Stationary Engineer License required
• Relevant building maintenance experience is with working knowledge of electrical, lighting, motors, plumbing, HVAC required
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Must be able to lift over 50lbs.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, required
• Previous experience with laundry and or kitchen equipment is an asset
• Highly responsible & reliable
