Energy Manager

Overview

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor and analyse data center energy consumption patterns across the portfolio, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization
• Develop and implement data center energy efficiency strategies, aligning with organizational sustainability goals and industry best practices to reduce overall Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DC Performance & Innovation Managers, Operations Managers and Site Engineers, to integrate energy-saving measures into daily data center operations
• Assess data center power and cooling infrastructure performance, ensuring optimal utilization and balancing mechanical loads with critical IT loads
• Conduct data center energy audits and lifecycle assessments, evaluating asset condition, performance risks and cost-effective energy improvement opportunities
• Ensure compliance with data center sustainability standards, including ISO 50001, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) and local energy regulations while maintaining accurate documentation for reporting
• Forecast future energy demand and capacity requirements to ensure the data center remains resilient, scalable and aligned with workload projections
• Optimize lifecycle planning for energy-intensive data center assets, developing maintenance, replacement and decommissioning strategies to maximize operational efficiency
• Develop and track key data center energy performance indicators (KPIs) for power and water efficiency, providing insights to senior management and aligning with operational targets
• Implement energy-efficient technologies and solutions in data centers, including renewable energy integration, advanced cooling techniques and AI-driven predictive analytics for energy management
• Assess and document centralized energy consumption targets, ensuring alignment with data center performance benchmarks and operational goals
• Establish standardized data collection methodologies for energy tracking, ensuring consistency across data center locations and alignment with asset management standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/ mechanical engineering (or) Energy Management
• Certifications in energy efficiency or sustainability preferred

Job-Specific Skills (Generic/ Technical)

• 3+ years of experience in energy monitoring, power management or data center operations
• Strong understanding of power distribution, HVAC and electrical infrastructure
• Familiarity with energy monitoring platforms and reporting tools
• Ability to work with large datasets and perform trend analysis
• Knowledge of energy regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 50001)
• Strong analytical skills for performance data analysis and trend identification
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams
