Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, or related field.
- Four years of professional work experience in emergency management or disaster training/education.
- Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of emergency management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of emergency management, including the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) .
- Ability to utilize a variety of technology platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Zoom, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The location of the position is in Helena, Montana, however, telework is negotiable after completion of a probationary period. This position reports to the Preparedness Bureau Chief.
- Conditions of employment: Must successfully pass background and driving records checks.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to work with, and engage in, diverse working environments within and outside of the Department of Military Affairs.
