Job Summary
An Electrician installs, maintains, repairs, and tests electrical systems, equipment, and wiring in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
They ensure all work complies with safety regulations, electrical codes, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install electrical wiring, fixtures, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Test electrical systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical installations.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Replace defective components such as wiring, fuses, and circuit breakers.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other trades on projects.
- Respond to emergency electrical repairs when required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or apprenticeship in electrical work.
- Valid electrician license or certification (where required).
- Knowledge of electrical codes, wiring systems, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with residential, commercial, or industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with power tools, testing instruments, and hand tools.

Working Conditions
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
