Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Design and approvals

• Design lighting, power distribution, emergency, HVAC and communication systems for G+6 buildings.
• Coordinate electrical layouts with architectural and structural teams and comply with DEWA, DM and local safety standards.
• Prepare drawings and documentation for DEWA and DM submissions and secure approvals.
• Calculate loads and design primary and secondary power distribution systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural and civil teams and resolve design conflicts.

Site delivery and operations

• Oversee site installation, inspections, quality, progress, schedule and budget.
• Supervise testing and commissioning and ensure systems meet safety and performance standards before handover.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
• Design energy-efficient systems and implement LED lighting, solar energy and energy management initiatives.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure site work follows applicable protocols and standards.

Reporting and client liaison

• Maintain accurate design and installation records and report project progress to managers, clients and stakeholders.
• Understand client requirements, provide installation updates and resolve concerns.

Qualifications

• DM and DEWA approved, with G+4 to G+6 experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years designing electrical systems for G+6 buildings.
• Strong electrical engineering knowledge and experience managing electrical projects.
• Knowledge of Dubai regulations, local electrical codes, safety rules and industry standards.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Able to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, solve problems, analyze issues and work in a team.
