About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Drafter based in the United Arab Emirates to create and maintain detailed electrical drawings and BIM models for commercial and industrial projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, 3–9 years of relevant experience, and a deep understanding of local and international electrical drafting standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules and installation drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP
- Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for MEP coordination and clash detection
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, and MEP teams to integrate design changes and ensure drawing accuracy
- Ensure all drawings comply with UAE codes, DEWA regulations and international standards (IEC, NEC)
- Manage drawing revisions and maintain proper document control within the project management system
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and incorporate field measurements into drawings
- Support project handover by providing as-built drawings and technical documentation
Required Qualifications
- 3–9 years of professional experience as an Electrical CAD Drafter or similar role
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical drafting
- Strong skills in Revit MEP for modeling and coordination
- Solid understanding of UAE electrical codes, DEWA regulations and international standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, specifications and datasheets
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial, residential or industrial projects in the UAE
- Familiarity with BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks or BIM 360
- Knowledge of other CAD/BIM software (e.g., MicroStation, SolidWorks)
- Certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or CAD drafting
- Experience with project management and document control platforms (e.g., Aconex, Procore)
