Qualifications

- Expected:
- HNC / HND or recognised equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline
- Demonstrable years of experience in undertaking fault finding activities, conducting commissioning / return to service / operational / maintenance tests
- Previous experience in high-hazard, industrial environment
- Desirable:
- Degree educated or equivalent in Electrical discipline
- Good communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to others
- Delivery focus – either a track record of delivery or a delivery mind-set
- Demonstrable history of working within safety and quality cultures
Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to team meetings
- Liaise with the designer
- Liaise with the Project Managers for electrical deliverables
- Accountable to a nominated Commissioning Manager / Senior Engineer in the NNB HPC Project team
- Develop commissioning documentation relating to commissioning testing and system validation activities
- Contribute to design reviews to ensure layout of plant items and systems are in a manner that allows ease of commissioning
- Contribute to detailed planning of commissioning and take ownership of a programme of commissioning tests
- Take part in the preparation and execution of site commissioning activities including supervision of contractor commissioning personnel on behalf of HPC to achieve successful and safe commissioning of HPC systems
- Provide information to assist the Commissioning Manager and Senior Commissioning Manager in meeting project-level objectives and milestones
- Analyse, verify and validate commissioning results and provide reports summarising the outcome of commissioning activities
- Support HPC to ensure that the commissioning process meets nuclear, environmental and industrial safety regulatory requirements and that it reflects good industry practice in international safety and technical excellence
- Develop commissioning documentation relating to commissioning testing and system validation activities for Electrical Systems
- Carry out commissioning tests on Electrical Systems according to approved Commissioning Test Procedures
- Ensure all commissioning documentation, test records and handover certificates are accurately completed and compliant with quality and safety standards
