Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented E&I Designer to support the Design & Engineering Department in delivering accurate electrical and instrumentation design outputs for marine, offshore, and oil & gas projects.
This role involves close coordination with engineering, production, procurement, and project teams to ensure all designs comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical and instrumentation design drawings, including single line diagrams, cable routing layouts, termination drawings, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and panel layouts.
- Develop 2D and 3D E&I models using AutoCAD and other design software.
- Prepare fabrication drawings and shop drawings in accordance with project specifications and engineering requirements.
- Review project specifications, P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical documents to ensure accurate design implementation.
- Prepare design input documents, design change notes, and support design development activities.
- Review design deliverables prepared in-house or by subcontractors prior to approval and construction release.
- Coordinate with discipline engineers and other disciplines to resolve design clashes, interface issues, and technical queries.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
- Prepare material take-offs (MTO) and support procurement and project execution activities.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and third-party agencies for technical clarifications and design coordination.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of all design deliverables.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of design-related issues during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure adherence to company QHSE standards throughout all design activities.
Education
Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
Experience
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in E&I design within oil & gas, marine, fabrication, or EPC projects.
Experience
working on ADNOC projects and familiarity with ADNOC standards and specifications is preferred.
Technical Skills
AutoCAD, 3D design software, MS Office.
Knowledge
Electrical systems, instrumentation systems, cable schedules, loop drawings, hook-up drawings, panel layouts, fabrication/shop drawings, and applicable IEC/IEEE standards.
Languages: English (mandatory).
