Role overview

Primary responsibilities

• Develop complex business intelligence solutions and support data strategy by identifying opportunities and risks.
• Build complex dashboards, scorecards, reports, and data analyses.
• Create and maintain a web-based portal using React.
• Apply advanced analytics, algorithms, visualizations, and maps to improve health and human services programs.
• Develop complex SQL queries and scripts, create Teradata data marts, and run ad hoc reports using claims, beneficiary, and provider data.
• Participate in project discussions and document or recommend technical solutions and requirements.
• Participate in unit, integration, and system testing.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with project participants.
• Gather business requirements and analyze internal and external information to assess program effectiveness and efficiency.
• Conduct peer reviews and provide technical support and guidance to the project team.
• Support project planning and execution, including presentations, risks, issues, and status reporting.
• Demonstrate deliverables, gain approvals and buy-in, and support implementation or adoption of solutions.

Required qualifications

• More than five years developing, implementing, and maintaining complex Tableau and Microsoft Power BI dashboards, visualizations, and analytics.
• More than five years developing high-performing SQL, including complex scripts using Teradata, DB2, or Oracle Load Utilities, or stored procedures.
• At least four years of complex development using React.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field, such as IT, computer science, mathematics, statistics, analytics, or business technology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, client-facing, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Strong organization skills and ability to set priorities and schedule deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to and collaborate with the team and organizational culture.

Preferred qualifications

• More than two years delivering analytics using Medicaid claims and enrollment data is preferred.
• At least two years of data warehouse project experience is preferred.
• More than two years of Tableau Server administration experience is preferred.
• Experience with SAP Business Objects, Base SAS, SAS Analytics, or SAS Enterprise Guide is preferred.
• State Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare industry experience is preferred.
