The Education Associate is a guest-facing role welcoming and interacting with guests of all ages.
The role delivers information at assigned zoological attractions or exhibits and involves working with animal ambassadors, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and some aquatic species.
Key responsibilities
- Interact with guests professionally, deliver educational facts, and maintain current theme park knowledge.
- Respond to guest concerns and queries, resolve issues, and provide service recovery as appropriate.
- Prepare educational materials and complete departmental checklists; alert the line manager to tasks needing action.
- Follow HSE policies and departmental SOPs to support human and animal safety.
- Promote available products, services, and activities; complete training and maintain professional competencies.
- Keep designated work areas clean and organized, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and working requirements
- High school diploma and at least one year of customer service experience are required.
- An outgoing personality, excellent guest interaction skills, and excellent spoken and written English are required.
- Basic knowledge of educational principles and instructional design models is required.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications, are required.
- Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift, handle animal ambassadors, and lift, push, and pull 15 kg.
- Must be available for varying opening, mid, and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
