Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight carriers.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and weight limits.
- Drive assigned routes with precision, ensuring on-time deliveries and pickups across designated locations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery documentation.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures to minimize risks on the road.
- Assist with warehouse duties when necessary, including forklift operation for loading or unloading freight.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving or commercial transportation roles with a focus on route driving and delivery services.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Experience handling various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, or heavy equipment like dump trucks and roll-off trucks.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts when required.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to trucking operations and freight handling.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (e.g., tanker endorsement).
