Key Responsibilities

  • Driving safely and efficiently.
  • Liaise and build positive relationships with the internal Distribution Team and internal/external customers.
  • Ensure all deliveries comply with legal requirements, prioritising the health, safety, and environmental standards of Breedon.
  • Work closely with the area Transport Manager to optimise delivery schedules and routes.
  • Contribute to the team by maintaining a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work. You will have an energetic “hands on” approach and the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level.
  • This position is ideal for a highly motivated, hard-working person with a positive attitude. You will have experience of HGV driving and have a valid class C licence and a current driver CPC. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the local area and you will preferably be experienced in delivering aggregates and concrete, although this is not essential as training will be provided. You will be flexible in your approach to work variable hours, with the availability for occasional nights and weekends.
  • A genuine interest in the construction materials industry and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
