About This Role

Job Description The Director of Technical Operations is the Postholder for Etihad Airways’ Maintenance (Part 145). To design, lead, manage, and control the functions of the Technical Operations department as per regulations including global EASA and CAR, and Etihad Airways’ operational requirements. Establishes the standards related to aircraft maintenance functions, including development of effective maintenance operations (line, light, and cabin), effective & efficient Production Planning standards and methods. Additionally, ensures all financial targets are met in line with the airline’s financial objectives.

As the Maintenance Postholder the Director Technical Operations will be required to deputize for the Senior Vice President Technical as required.

• Safety & Quality: Safeguards aircraft maintenance compliance, ensures Company GCAA/EASA approvals are maintained without compromise, and promotes safety through implementation of Safety Management Systems processes.
• Cost: Controls the budgetary expenditure to ensure yearly targets are maintained.
• Service: Establish and effectively maintain aircraft exterior and interior cabin standards as expected of a leading world class airline.
• Operational Performance: Achieving on time performance (OTP) targets and ensuring the safety of the operation by maintaining the airworthiness state of the fleet to the highest standards.
• Innovation: Explores and uses technologies to drive effective and efficient solutions as well as future improvements.
• Strategy: Ensure Etihad OGSM is fully embedded and used as the single thread to drive Line and Cabin Maintenance operational strategy, performance, and project completion to plan.
• Staff Performance: Ensure staff competency, capability, development, and training is established and maintained by effective and timely use of i-Achieve, CPM, i-Learn, Etihad Policies and Procedures and other tools as appropriate.
• People: develop and create career paths to build the next generation of leadership.

Qualifications

• Holder of valid aircraft maintenance license (UAE GCAA/EASA Part 66 or equivalent), Bachelor’s degree in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic engineering), while a Master’s degree in Engineering and/or Management field is preferable as an additional qualification. Formal Post Holder training is desirable
• A minimum of 15 years aviation industry experience is required including previous experience in a similar Senior Management role. In addition, at least 5 years of specific technical management experience is essential plus an extensive knowledge of EY fleet types.
