Director of Algorithms Engineering - Physics

Education and experience

• PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• 4+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 5 or more engineers
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling engineering teams
• 10+ years of technical leadership in physics-based modeling, computer vision, machine learning, or related fields
• Experience in semiconductor industry strongly preferred, including supporting deployments in customer fabs
• Technical qualifications
• Physics-based modeling and simulation, including SEM image formation, e-beam interactions, and voltage contrast
• Computer vision and image processing
• Machine learning and AI
• High-performance computing, GPU acceleration, and numerical optimization
• C++, CUDA, Python, and modern software development practices
• Scientific computing and large-scale algorithm development
• Personal leadership attributes
• Strong technical judgment and strategic thinking
• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive execution
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Passion for building teams, coaching engineers, and developing talent

• Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
