Lead multiple engineering teams or a critical product area, working with Engineering Managers, Product, and Design.
The role connects company strategy to execution while building autonomous teams and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams through Engineering Managers and Senior ICs, aligning with product and company priorities.
- Apply emerging AI technologies and foster continuous improvement across the technology function.
- Own delivery and operational excellence for a product or platform area.
- Shape roadmaps with Product, Design, and stakeholders; drive scalable, reliable, high-performing systems.
- Coach Engineering Managers; contribute to organizational planning, team structure, and headcount.
- Advise senior technology leaders and translate strategy into team priorities.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of engineering experience, including 3–5+ years managing multiple teams or through managers.
- Experience delivering complex cross-functional projects in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Strong technical background in distributed systems, APIs, and scalable infrastructure.
- Ability to lead through others; strong communication and experience in distributed or global engineering environments.
Preferred experience
- Developer tools, infrastructure, or data platforms experience is a plus.
- Product-led growth familiarity and exposure to AI/ML-powered products or platforms are pluses.
Workplace
- Algolia describes a flexible model with remote or hybrid-remote options for some employees.
- City-listed roles may be hybrid-remote or in-office, depending on the role.
