Digital Identity Consultant | Electronic Verification Specialist

Role overview

Consulting and verification delivery

• Assess identity verification processes and recommend improvements to efficiency, accuracy, security, and user experience.
• Design and support verification workflows for customer onboarding and account management, including eKYC and risk-based validation.
• Evaluate document verification, biometric authentication, facial matching, liveness detection, platforms, vendors, APIs, and third-party services.
• Work with technical teams to integrate verification capabilities into websites, mobile applications, and business systems.
• Review workflows for vulnerabilities, process gaps, unnecessary friction, and fraud risks; investigate failures and suspected identity misuse.
• Analyze verification results, confidence scores, exception patterns, completion rates, false acceptance and rejection rates, and processing times.
• Support verification rules, risk thresholds, escalation procedures, manual review, MFA, SSO, identity federation, and access management where applicable.
• Advise on identity enrollment, authentication, profile updates, account recovery, identity assurance, and proportionate verification methods.

Implementation and operations

• Prepare consulting reports, process maps, technical documentation, requirements specifications, functional specifications, and operational procedures.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops, demonstrations, requirements assessments, and implementation reviews.
• Support user acceptance and system integration testing, issue tracking, and verification workflow validation.
• Maintain procedure, configuration, exception-handling, and audit-trail documentation; train users on systems and escalation protocols.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, risk, and cybersecurity teams on policies and controls; support incident investigations and appropriate automation.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, business consulting, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in digital identity, electronic verification, eKYC, identity and access management, fraud prevention, or technology consulting.
• Understanding of identity lifecycle management, proofing, authentication, authorization, onboarding, and risk-based verification.
• Familiarity with document authentication, biometric matching, liveness detection, MFA, SSO, identity federation, and access management.
• Basic understanding of APIs, web services, system integration, and data formats such as JSON; experience evaluating verification platforms or vendors.
• Ability to gather requirements, develop specifications, analyze verification results, document processes, and collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Knowledge of privacy-by-design, data minimization, secure personal-information handling, and applicable privacy and identity requirements.
• Experience with testing, user acceptance testing, defect tracking, and quality assurance processes.

Advantageous qualifications

• OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, or relevant digital identity assurance frameworks are advantageous.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, telecommunications, digital banking, e-commerce, or another regulated industry is preferred.
• Relevant cybersecurity, identity and access management, privacy, or business analysis certifications are advantageous.
• Understanding of biometric limitations, accessibility, verification bias, supplier onboarding, or procurement governance is beneficial.
