Digital Assets Lead

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Set the virtual assets and blockchain roadmap and identify opportunities in tokenized assets, tokenized deposits, digital payments, and distributed ledger technologies.
• Lead initiatives from concept and feasibility assessment through pilot execution and scaling recommendations.
• Work with technology providers, fintech firms, industry participants, strategic partners, and regulators; align work with governance and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate approvals, risk reviews, and governance, and collaborate across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Payments, Treasury, Operations, and Business.
• Turn complex concepts into practical business use cases; assess effects on payments, settlement, wallets, liquidity, reconciliation, and operational controls.
• Build business cases, monitor relevant market developments, represent the function with senior stakeholders, and document assessments and outcomes.
• Support internal awareness and capability building in digital assets and blockchain technologies.

Requirements

• Approximately 7 or more years in banking, financial services, fintech, payments, blockchain, digital assets, or emerging technology environments.
• Experience delivering complex technology or innovation initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of banking infrastructure, payments, settlement models, and regulatory environments.
• Hands-on exposure to digital assets, tokenization, blockchain, CBDCs, digital wallets, or related ecosystems.
• Ability to work with architecture, technology, and engineering teams and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and project leadership capabilities.
• Regulated financial institution experience is highly desirable; knowledge of smart contracts, distributed ledger technology, tokenized assets, and cross-border payments is advantageous.
