Die Shop Handler Level 2 reports to the Die Shop Manager at the Pickering, Ontario location.
This is a temporary full-time vacancy.
The role supports production by handling and maintaining extrusion tooling dies.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble and set up extrusion tooling dies according to production requests, then stage them on the press staging rack.
- Use a hydraulic press machine to push out or remove dies from holder adapters.
- Transfer tooling dies into holding baskets for caustic soda deep cleaning.
- Disassemble extrusion tooling dies for detailed cleaning.
- Clean, polish, and inspect dies using basic pneumatic tools and a sandblasting machine.
- Store dies in the shelf rack system or retrieve them as needed.
- Perform housekeeping duties in the die shop.
Qualifications and physical requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift and crane experience are considered an asset.
- Previous manufacturing, production, tooling, die shop, machine shop, or industrial experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and safe work procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand for extended periods.
Pay
- Rate of pay is $26.00 per hour.
Workplace
- Work location is in person at 1850 Clements Road, Pickering, Ontario.
