DevOps Engineer (8-Month Contract)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows.
• Automate deployment, configuration, and operational processes.
• Manage Linux-based development and infrastructure environments.
• Develop automation scripts using Python and/or Bash.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
• Support integration, testing, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational guides.
• Support security and compliance requirements across infrastructure and applications.

Required skills and experience

• At least five years of hands-on DevOps experience.
• Strong experience with Jenkins, Git or GitLab, Linux administration, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipeline development, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Python and/or Bash scripting, containerized environments, and deployment automation.
• Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, and system integration.
• Experience troubleshooting production environments and performing root cause analysis.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases; familiarity with Agile delivery practices and Jira.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications are highly regarded.

Preferred qualifications

• UAE driving license and immediate availability or a short notice period are preferred.
• Docker Swarm; Kubernetes or OpenShift; cybersecurity, server hardening, or PKI knowledge are preferred.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, or other critical-infrastructure environments is preferred.
• Relevant DevOps, Linux, Cloud, Networking, or Security certifications are highly regarded.

Pay

• Pay is AED 17,000–20,000 per month.

Work model

• The role is onsite in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
