Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health.

The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE.

This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

Danat Al Emarat Hospital is seeking a Specialist in Developmental & Behavioural Pediatrics to join its multidisciplinary pediatric team in Abu Dhabi.

The role focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of children with developmental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental conditions, supporting early intervention and long-term care plans in a family-centered environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage children with developmental delays, behavioral concerns, and neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties).
  • Conduct comprehensive developmental evaluations and formulate individualized management plans.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, therapists, educators, and pediatric subspecialists.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and long-term care strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Participate in early intervention programs and support care coordination across services.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental activities.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation in line with DOH regulations.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree with specialization in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Developmental & Behavioural Pediatrics.
  • Board certification or equivalent qualification in Pediatrics (Arab Board / European / UK / American Board).
  • Fellowship or structured training in Developmental & Behavioural Pediatrics preferred.
  • Valid DOH License or Eligibility as Specialist Pediatrics.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant pediatric experience, including exposure to developmental and behavioral cases.
  • Strong communication skills with a family-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
