About The Role
Jaycee Brands L.L.C manages a portfolio of international fashion brands across all six GCC markets.
We are looking for a Design Specialist who is equally at home developing a product tech pack and designing a campaign banner — someone who sees no boundary between product design and visual communication.
This role works at the heart of the business, translating brand identity and commercial insight into compelling designs across every touchpoint: product, digital, print, and in-store.
You will collaborate closely with the buying & merchandising team, brand principals, and external creative talent to deliver work that is both visually strong and commercially effective.
Key Responsibilities1. Design Research & Creative Direction
- Research and track global and GCC-regional design trends across product, print, colour, material, and visual communication.
- Develop seasonal design directions, mood boards, and colour stories that serve both product development and campaign creative needs.
- Translate trend and consumer insights into actionable design briefs for product and graphic outputs.
- Maintain a structured design research library covering trend reports, competitor benchmarking, and visual references.
- Present research and creative direction to the buying & merchandising team as a seasonal planning input.
2. Product Design & Technical Development
- Design products from concept through to production-ready specification — covering silhouettes, construction details, fabric and trim callouts, print and graphic placement, and fit notes.
- Prepare detailed tech packs and specification sheets for supplier and manufacturer communication.
- Liaise with suppliers to convey design intent, review samples, and manage correction rounds to achieve accurate first-sample approvals.
- Develop prints, graphics, embroideries, and surface treatments for product categories across the brand portfolio.
- Contribute to range architecture decisions, recommending the right balance of styles, colours, prints, and options per category.
3. Graphic Design & Visual Asset Production
- Produce all creative assets required across the business: e-commerce banners, campaign visuals, social media creatives, lookbook layouts, POS materials, packaging, and in-store communication.
- Ensure all output is on-brand, approved by brand principals, and technically compliant for the relevant platform or production method.
- Brief, manage, and quality-check work from external designers, photographers, and creative vendors.
- Maintain a well-organized library of brand assets, approved templates, and design files for consistent cross-channel use.
4. Brand Principal Collaboration
- Act as the primary creative liaison with brand principals across the Jaycee Brands portfolio.
- Obtain, interpret, and implement brand guidelines covering visual identity, seasonal campaign toolkits, product standards, and print directions.
- Seek brand principal approvals on locally adapted creative and product work, ensuring global standards are upheld while meeting GCC market requirements.
- Participate in seasonal brand reviews and range presentations, contributing design perspective in alignment with the buying strategy.
5. Data-Driven Design & Commercial Input
- Analyse sales data to identify best-selling and poor-performing styles, colours, prints, and SKUs — and use these insights directly to inform the next design cycle.
- Recommend option counts, colour and print ratios, and design directions per category based on sell-through performance.
- Identify design-related factors contributing to slow sellers and propose corrective actions for future seasons.
- Produce visual buy sheets and range review documents combining product visuals, sales data, and design commentary for internal and brand principal reviews.
6. E-Commerce & Digital Design
- Direct and create visual content for all e-commerce channels — product photography briefing, marketplace storefronts, banners, and homepage visuals.
- Ensure all imagery meets platform-specific technical requirements across Noon, Amazon, brand websites, and social channels.
- Collaborate with the E-Commerce Operations Specialist on catalog imagery, listing visuals, and digital campaign assets.
- Design social media content in line with seasonal campaign and promotional calendars.
Essential
- 3–5 years of design experience in a fashion retail or brand environment, with a portfolio that demonstrates both product/technical design and graphic/visual design work.
- Proven ability to produce tech packs and specification documents for supplier production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Experience briefing and managing external designers, freelancers, or creative agencies.
- Ability to read and interpret retail sales data and convert findings into design decisions.
- Prior experience working with brand principals or within licensed brand guidelines.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail across both technical documentation and visual output.
Preferred
- Experience in GCC retail or understanding of regional consumer aesthetics and cultural sensitivities.
- Familiarity with CLO 3D, Figma, Canva Pro, or Adobe After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for sell-through analysis and option planning.
- Understanding of apparel production processes: fabric construction, print methods (screen, digital, sublimation), embroidery, and CMT.
- Experience directing product or campaign photography shoots.
- Exposure to marketplace content standards (Noon, Amazon.ae, Namshi).
