Design Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Fire & Gas designs, detector layouts, detector placement plans, and cause and effect matrices.
• Perform detector coverage and spacing calculations for industrial facilities.
• Prepare shop drawings, schematics, datasheets, GA drawings, and P&IDs.
• Prepare BOQs, material take-offs, and technical specifications for tendering and procurement.
• Review specifications, codes, client requirements, vendor documents, drawings, calculations, and compliance documents.
• Prepare technical submittals, material approval requests, and equipment datasheets.
• Coordinate with project and site teams and consultants across the UAE and India.
• Support tendering and estimation with technical design inputs and cost estimates.
• Revise drawings and calculations based on consultant and client feedback.
• Deliver accurate and complete design documentation within project timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical, instrumentation, electronics, or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant fire alarm or Fire & Gas design experience in oil and gas, energy, or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, IS, and applicable international fire protection design standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and F&G Mapping Study Software.
• Experience with GA, schematic, loop, and P&ID drawings.
• Understanding of Fire & Gas detection systems, cause and effect philosophy, and control panel interfacing.
• Strong analytical, technical documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate across India and the UAE.
• International project or client experience is advantageous.
• NFPA, CFPS, or similar certification is advantageous.
