Role and reporting

Direct the structural and architectural design department and supervise drafting teams producing buildable shop drawings, structural calculations, and accurate fabrication data.

Department: Design & Engineering. Reports to the Operations Manager or Technical Director.

Core responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering team in producing complete facade packages, including curtain walls, skylights, and cladding.
  • Coordinate with main contractors and consultants to secure shop drawing approvals.
  • Oversee thermal, wind-load, and structural calculation reviews.
  • Ensure accurate cutting lists, glass schedules, and bills of materials to prevent production mismatches.
  • Follow up on approvals and cost requests.

Experience and qualifications

  • 15+ years managing facade design teams for high-rise or commercial projects in the UAE.
  • B.Sc. in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD, 3D/BIM (Revit), and facade calculation software.
  • Experience in the aluminium sector is mandatory.
