Role Objective

The incumbent will work closely with the CDIO in leading Doha Bank’s Digital Solutions and Technology department including but not limited to Business Solutions, Enterprise Digital Architecture, Digital Technology and Applications Testing. The incumbent will lead collaboration with the relevant stakeholders in identifying technology opportunities, design of new customer-centric inclusive digital solutions to continually improve performance, reduce risks, and increase efficiencies across bank-wide functions and enhance the digital business transformation.

Strategic

  • Contribute towards the formulation/implementation of overall DS&IT strategy /goals and align Digital Solutions and Technology function towards the same.
  • Work closely with the CDIO in defining the scope and goals of the overall Digital Solutions and Technology strategy and value proposition based on based on organizational requirements/ market trends.
  • Extend support to the CDIO in development of key performance metrics pertaining to Digital Solutions and Technology department, to measure success and identify opportunities for optimization.

Operational

  • Oversee development and implementation of policies & procedures for the Digital & Technology Solutions function to ensure efficient and flawless operations.
  • Oversee to ensure documentation and communication of long term and economical and optimized solutions for the technology needs of Doha Bank.
  • Lead the development of streamlined work processes and procedures related to different units within the section in line with industry best practices and approved policy parameters.
  • Work closely with the CDIO in optimizing Costs and ROI in terms of Tech/Digital investments.
  • Oversee collaborative efforts with DS&IT and respective Business Units in ascertaining the key business opportunities, processes, challenges/risks, furthering the development/deployment of new functionalities that will have positive impact on the Enterprise systems/business architecture/ IT Strategy.
  • Oversee the team in establishing methodologies for Enterprise Architecture quality assessment, and establishment of measurement systems for alignment.
  • Direct the team in collaborative efforts with the Business Units / Products teams to define data analytics requirements, and challenging business needs into impactful and scalable data solutions.
  • Oversee the team in analyzing/ interpreting business intelligence needs of the internal customer at both organizational and functional level and determine optimum BI solutions.
  • Lead the team in performing research regarding software and technology packages, based on business needs/Tech demands.
  • Work collaboratively with DS&IT sections/ business lines and Vendors/ partners to ensure the digital solutions are in line with the Bank’s overall business strategy.
  • Oversee/direct /assess FinTech partnerships to enable the business strategy.

People Management

  • Allocate work deliverables and supervise direct reports in their day-to-day tasks and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback and counseling. Provide recommendations to the CDIO on hiring and promotions.
  • Support the recruitment team in screening candidates sourced for the Department, in accordance with the job specifications/requirements.
  • Support the employees of the Department for setting career goals, in alignment with the functional and organizational objectives.

Qualification And Experience Required

  • University graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or any other related technical discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Management/ Technology any other related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • 15-20 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.
  • Proven experience in program management within emerging digital landscapes in consulting area will be an added advantage
  • Experience in developing digital business solutions in line with the strategic business initiatives.
  • Significant experience in establishing EA best practices and in technology transformation.

Certifications

  • Professional certification such as PMP/ Prince2 is preferable
  • Industry accredited certificates in digital landscape
