Role Description

This full-time, on-site Demi Chef De Partie role is based at our Steak House concept in Abu Dhabi.

The Demi Chef De Partie will support the Chef De Partie and wider kitchen team in preparing and cooking high-quality steak and grill items, side dishes, sauces, and accompaniments in line with restaurant standards.

Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining the designated section, ensuring proper mise en place, adhering to portion and presentation guidelines, and following all food safety and hygiene procedures.

The role involves coordinating with other kitchen sections during service, monitoring product quality and freshness, and assisting in stock rotation and inventory control.

The Demi Chef De Partie will also help train junior team members, contribute to new menu items and specials, and uphold a respectful, efficient, and collaborative kitchen environment.

Qualifications

  • Professional culinary training or relevant hospitality certification, with practical experience in a busy restaurant kitchen (steak house, grill, or upscale dining experience is an advantage).
  • Strong skills in meat preparation and grilling techniques, including knowledge of steak cuts, cooking temperatures, and consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Solid understanding of basic cooking methods (sautéing, roasting, frying, sauce preparation) and experience with kitchen equipment and tools used in a steak-focused operation.
  • Knowledge of food safety, HACCP standards, and kitchen hygiene practices, with a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and organized workstations.
  • Ability to follow recipes and plating standards accurately, manage mise en place efficiently, and work under pressure during peak service times.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across kitchen and service teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and adaptable approach to changing service needs.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to support training and development of more junior team members.
  • Previous experience in the UAE or GCC region, and basic knowledge of English for workplace communication; additional languages are a plus.
