Demi Chef de Partie based in the bakery section at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, reporting to the Chef de Partie.
Responsible for contributing to baked goods that meet standards for taste, presentation, and food safety.
Bakery and kitchen duties
- Assist with preparing and baking bread, pastries, and other baked items.
- Follow ingredients and recipes precisely to ensure consistent quality.
- Monitor inventory, arrange timely requisitions, and minimize waste.
- Collaborate on new recipes and baked items; support broader kitchen operations as needed.
- Follow hotel health, food-safety, and hygiene standards, including HACCP and UAE Municipality requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years as a Demi Chef de Partie in the bakery section of a five-star hotel or high-end restaurant.
- Hands-on baking knowledge covering dough handling, proofing, and finishing.
- Strong understanding of HACCP and food-safety practices.
- Effective verbal and written English communication.
- Culinary training is an advantage; additional languages are a plus; hotel pre-opening or renovation experience is highly desirable.
- Creativity, passion for baking, and a team-oriented mindset.
