The analyst works in the End-to-End Debt Strategy & Performance team, shaping debt performance across British Gas Business.
The role uses data-driven insight to support debt prevention, cash collection, operational efficiency and commercial performance.
Areas of focus may include Direct Debit performance, debt prevention, third-party recovery, workflow management and debt operations.
Performance analysis and strategy
- Monitor debt and recovery performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Produce reporting and management information, and track results against goals, forecasts and business cases.
- Analyse performance drivers and translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Support debt strategies, business cases and treatment approaches; model proposed changes.
- Support implementation and assess initiatives against KPIs, expected outcomes and benefits.
Governance and reporting
- Develop reporting suites, dashboards and KPI frameworks and present findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain initiative documentation and identify risks, control weaknesses and compliance concerns.
Experience and skills
- Strong analytical experience in debt management, collections, finance, commercial performance or operational performance.
- Experience with large datasets, actionable analysis, performance improvement, business change and benefits realisation.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards and KPI frameworks; strong numerical, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Advanced analytical capability using SQL, Power BI, Fabric, Databricks, SAS or similar tools.
- Commercial awareness and ability to balance customer outcomes with business performance.
