Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role, located in Dubai, for a Datacenter Level 1 Support Technician.

The technician will be responsible for providing technical support, resolving service requests, and conducting hardware and software troubleshooting within the datacenter environment.

Daily tasks include monitoring systems for optimal performance, assisting with hardware installations and replacements, and ensuring adherence to operational protocols.

The role also entails collaboration with team members to address technical issues promptly and effectively while maintaining communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform smart‑hands requests: cable connections, label updates, visual inspections, component reseating.
  • Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, CDU status) and report deviations.
  • Log incidents via ticketing system and classify priority per SLA.
  • Assist with RMA tasks: receive parts, package failed units, coordinate couriers.
  • Conduct fibre health checks (cleaning, basic OTDR/OLTS under supervision).
  • Escort third‑party vendors and maintain security logs.
  • Update asset records and operational logs after each intervention.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years experience in a datacenter, IT support, or technical warehouse role.
  • Basic knowledge of server hardware (GPUs, RAM, NICs, cables).
  • Familiarity with fibre optics and copper cabling (LC/MPO, Cat6).
  • Ability to follow written procedures (SOPs) and safety rules.
  • Willing to work 24/7 shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Good English communication (verbal/written).

Preferred

  • Certification: CompTIA Server+, Data Center Foundation, or similar.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and escalation workflows.
