About the role
Supports line-of-business applications and users across breeding, veterinary, ecology, laboratory, and other operational areas.
Combines business needs analysis, data management and processing, application support, SQL, BI, and emerging AI.
Works under the functional responsibility of the Senior Database Manager and may contribute to projects across international locations.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze operational needs and prepare functional specifications; propose solutions aligned with company strategy.
- Optimize intranet applications, dictionaries, forms, back-office configuration, and SQL Server activities; coordinate application development with providers.
- Perform ETL, consolidate data across production centers, and contribute to BI and Tableau dashboards.
- Support AI solutions, including automated recognition and generative AI; curate, process, and extract data with SQL scripts.
- Prepare user documentation, support materials, and activity reports; train and assist application users.
- Follow up technically with external providers and participate in international missions as required.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, in agronomy, ecology, biology, breeding, or an equivalent field.
- Good knowledge of T-SQL and SQL Server or another relational database management system; prior data management and processing experience beyond database administration.
- First professional experience; proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and internet applications.
- Strong analytical ability, organization, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in breeding, ecology, laboratory, and veterinary processes; willingness to travel internationally when required.
Preferred qualifications
- Initial AI experience is preferred.
- Basic Python, R, or another programming language is advantageous.
- Systems and networks knowledge, including Active Directory, IP, and DNS, is advantageous.
- BI experience, ideally Tableau, or GIS experience, ideally ESRI, is an asset.
- Fluency in French, Arabic, Russian, Kazakh, or Uzbek is advantageous.
