Role Overview

Databricks Data Engineering Support

• Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of data pipelines and curated datasets on Databricks.
• Develop datasets for reporting, analytics, dashboards, and business performance tracking.
• Use SQL, Python, and PySpark to transform, validate, and prepare data.
• Assist with pipeline and reporting troubleshooting.

BI Data Products and Reporting

• Build and maintain reusable datasets for Power BI, Tableau, and other analytics tools.
• Partner with BI analysts on reporting requirements, KPIs, and business rules.
• Create reporting tables, views, and data marts for dashboards.
• Validate reporting outputs against business needs.

Data Modeling and Quality

• Support fact tables, dimension tables, reporting views, and curated data marts.
• Apply star schema, keys, joins, dimensions, and measures.
• Perform validation, reconciliation, quality checks, and discrepancy resolution.
• Document data structures, business rules, and validation results.

Technical Development

• Write and optimize SQL queries for extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Use Python or PySpark for automation and data processing.
• Develop maintainable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Follow engineering, release management, security, and governance standards.

Cloud and Collaboration

• Use Git for version control and collaboration.
• Support validation and migration activities involving Amazon Redshift and Databricks.
• Support data lineage, metadata management, and access controls.
• Participate in requirements gathering, testing, releases, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, quantitative, or business analytics field.
• 0–3 years of experience in data engineering, BI, analytics, data warehousing, or software development.
• Strong SQL knowledge and basic Python experience.
• Working knowledge of Git and version control.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL, Python, Databricks, AWS, Redshift, Power BI, Tableau, or ETL processes.
• Databricks certification or related training.
• Familiarity with PySpark and distributed data processing.
• Experience supporting reporting, dashboards, and data quality initiatives.
• A master’s degree is an advantage.
