Role overview

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 8 years of related experience in a large IT data center facility.
• Demonstrated experience with backup tools, server and hardware work, enterprise monitoring, and data center power and cooling.
• Advanced knowledge of data centers, hardware, IT services, cable management, cabling topology, and cabling matrices.
• Knowledge of physical and logical data center security and asset inventory management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to prioritize work under pressure and resolve escalated issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and written and spoken English; Arabic is preferred.

Technical scope

• Experience administering infrastructure monitoring for virtual machines, physical servers, network equipment, VMware environments, and storage.
• Client monitoring tools include HP SiteScope and NNMi.
• Data center scope includes backup, hardware lifecycle, cabling, power, cooling, inventory, and security.

Responsibilities

• Manage hardware lifecycle, inventory, RMA, surplus, retired equipment, and stock records.
• Troubleshoot hardware, overheating, cabling, and power issues; perform day-to-day operations using data center practices and ITIL disciplines.
• Support purchasing, requisition review, vendor and contractor coordination, contract SLAs, and service-level follow-up.
• Manage space allocation and power charges; evaluate project work, change controls, and implementation plans.
• Inspect compliance with client standards and maintain hardware and software conformity.
• Plan data center capacity for existing and future requirements.
• Administer and maintain HP SiteScope and NNMi; configure monitoring, coordinate with technical teams, troubleshoot issues, and apply upgrades and patches.
• Follow client policies, procedures, guidelines, and code of conduct requirements.

Location

• The role is for the employer's Qatar operations and is deputed to a leading organization in Qatar.
