The role is part of the Business Intelligence organization and supports a globally distributed team of data professionals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Write SQL views and build dashboards directly within Databricks using data populated by the engineering team.
  • Add structured descriptions and metadata to tables, views, and columns so data is discoverable and accurately queried by AI tools.
  • Validate report accuracy, monitor data quality, and maintain documentation of reporting logic.
  • Build and scale the business reporting layer within Databricks.
  • Use AI coding agents such as Databricks Genie or Claude to assist with writing and optimizing queries.

Required Qualifications

  • Have 2 to 4 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, or data analysis.
  • Work a hybrid schedule with the ability to commute to the Columbia, Maryland office or the Boston, Massachusetts office three days per week.
  • Have fundamental working proficiency in SQL, including select statements, joins, aggregations, filtering, and order of operations.
  • Have basic to working proficiency with Databricks, a comparable lakehouse, or a cloud data platform such as Snowflake.
  • Have experience building dashboards and presenting data visually with tools such as Databricks dashboards, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills for working with nontechnical business stakeholders.
  • Have a detail-oriented approach to documenting data objects, definitions, and logic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing table and column descriptions or metadata for data catalogs, semantic layers, or natural-language query tools.
  • Exposure to Python or PySpark within Databricks notebooks.
  • Familiarity with analytics engineering practices such as dbt or version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience in enterprise software, SaaS, or cybersecurity environments.

Compensation

  • The US base pay range is $72,500 to $96,500 USD yearly.
  • Employees may also be eligible for variable compensation and company benefits.

Workplace

  • The position uses a hybrid schedule based in either Columbia, Maryland or Boston, Massachusetts, with three office days per week.
